Sahara Garcia brings to the organization 12 years of experience of homeownership and financial literacy education and counseling and has been with us since 2013.  She has spent the past five years implementing and expanding NWOC’s financial education courses, growing our community partnerships, and improving our financial literacy curriculum. She is responsible for teaching all our education courses, coordinating our online educational courses and coordinating our volunteer instructors. She was recognized by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for her work on the Bank on California Initiative in 2009, in 2013 she was recognized by the United States House of Representatives and in 2010 was recognized by the California State Senate and the Internal Revenue Service.  As Education Manager she has signed on and adopted the National Industry Standard in Homeownership Education and Counseling as well as the National Industry Code of Ethics and conduct for homeownership education. She is certified in the areas of Financial Coaching, Financial Capability, Post Purchase Education, Fair Housing, Homebuyer Education, and provides services in both English and Spanish.
