AmeriCorps VISTA Program

Serve through AmeriCorps VISTA

NeighborWorks America, in partnership with the Corporation for National and Community Service, sponsors one of the largest national VISTA (Volunteers In Service to America)  programs in the United States.

The NeighborWorks VISTA program seeks to support and facilitate access to services and resources that contribute to improving the well-being and financial security of economically disadvantaged people, and expects to benefit hundreds of communities across the country.

NeighborWorks Orange County received its first AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer in 2013. Our VISTA volunteers have been instrumental in developing marketing and outreach materials and supporting the Community Building Program.

The program has four focus areas that aim to:

 Strengthen communities affected by foreclosures

Protect and build personal and community assets

Build healthy communities through resident leadership

Build NeighborWorks organizations’ capacity to leverage data for more effective programs
